I was looking at jailbreaking myself, which seems really straight forward, but then looking at pricing of VPN and potentially messing around getting content that works seems like a bit of a mess around. On the flip of this I know someone who will jailbreak for me and grant free access to content for a change. What do people generally do. I’m assuming this guy just has a VPN and just does essentially what I could do myself?
This is 4 mintues video you can jailbreak or turn on dev option in 30 seconds but if you watch this video you will not use the term “jailbreak firestick” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dVN9u5U4bI
No such thing as jailbreaking a Firestick. It’s literally just going into the settings and changing like 2 things. Takes all of 30 seconds or less.
Its easy asf idk why you would pay someone
They use jailbreaking to dupe people unfamiliar with adding builds on a firestick, tis a scummy trick
Google & YouTube tutorials will help you get into adding these yourself never pay any random on Facebook market place.
As mentioned it is not jailbreaking but side loading of apps, which is quite legal. However not all apps that you download may be legal and therefore you would ideally use a VPN to disguise your IP address.
I use Syncler+ which is a cheap paid for app at $15 per year for 5 devices paying by crypto or more if you use a reseller but you will need to pay for a Real Debrid account as well. But you then do not need to use a VPN although I prefer to choose to, part of that is because I actually get a higher download speed whilst using it.
Other options are Stremio, which is free but you will still need a Real Debrid account for that as well. Again, as I understand it, you will not need to use a VPN but I would advise it.
Free apps like Cinema HD and BeeTV etc. really should be used with a VPN but often that can be glitchy or cause other problems. It is your choice in the long run and it is potentially your safety which is at stake
You dont need a VPN for anything, unless youre in a location that is restricting access to watching what you want to watch!
You’ve got quite a low understanding and it’s not just a VPN they’re using if indeed one is being used.
Jailbreaking: Turning on a setting in the menu that allows you to install apps from external sources.
Paid for service: Access to a private app subscription that has a big collection of live sports and on demand. Requires a login to connect to the private server. This is what people are selling.
Alternative methods: All on demand types can be got very easily for free, at least in mediocre quality. No VPN needed and simple free apps found on internet. There are free method for higher quality but usually need a VPN (torrents). Then there are far superior almost free but paid service for the best quality available anywhere including better than some.official providers. Real debrid is about £2 a month and gives you access to unlimited content available anywhere and in the highest possible quality except the producers data. Live is a different kettle of fish and free is usually through Kodi but requires constant maintenance and work and very tech savvy person. Other than that you need to subscribe to a paid for IPTV service for the live content. People buy reseller packages for cheap and sell accounts at a time on a profit.
You don’t need a VPN for any firestick movie/tv app except for maybe some odd Kodi addons. VPNs defend against detection of your IP if you’re using torrents, but none of the apps commonly used on firesticks use torrents, and the main one that does (Stremio with paid real debrid account) gets them from a cached repository, so there’s no risk of using without VPN.
It’s remarkably easy to do yourself for 100% free. Just google some videos of how to add 3rd party apps on firestick/androidTV/googleTV. They all begin with getting the Downloader browser on your firestick so maybe start there.
heres a good app to get started for live tv

The TV App
fire stick owners are the worst.
pathetic actually.
Thanks that’s really useful.
Same reason you pay for everything. Time and skills.
Thanks mate. That’s really useful.
What apps are “illegal”
I use Stremio and don’t have Real Debrid.
I do pay yearly for a VPN to use it, it works without but I wouldn’t take the risk.
I very rarely have issue with finding what I am looking for and playing back. It helps if it’s relatively recent or popular. Less popular or older means I potentially can’t find anything that will not cause too much buffering.
Yes I do have quite a low understanding that’s why I’m asking on here?
None. Not sure what that poster meant. You mainly need a VPN when torrenting to mask your IP, since torrents mean you’re (illegally) uploading copyrighted material while you’re downloading. None of the firestick/androidtV apps use torrents; it’s not practical given the resource limitations of a streaming stick.
Even if you use Stremio’s popular torrentIO addon, you don’t need a VPN bc you’re streaming that torrent from a (paid) real debrid server, not uploading anything.
Only real risk would be some obscure Kodi addons for torrents.
I mostly watch obscure TV series and I definitely need Real Debrid for that, it’s good to know you can use Stremio without Real Debrid but most people seem to opt for a real Debrid account, as I had one anyway it was easy enough to add it in my case.
And that’s why Ive provided you detail rather than passing comment on your knowledge without constructive feedback? And I think your asking on here to make money or scam people. Most people sell proper live service, although I did know a guy that “chipped” firesticks for £40 and all.he did was put cinemaHD on it.
