Hello.
I’m working with pfsense 2.7-dev testing OpenVPN Home-Office, I download openvpn client from openvpn website which is the version 2.6.3.
I setup my pfsense box, download the user files and send it my client and went I try to connect I got this error:
Is not related to pfsense, because the client doesn’t even try to access the server.
Does openvpn client version 2.6 is supported for pfsense?
Regards!!!

The OpenSSL 3.1.0 isn’t the error message, it’s the “PKCS12 failed. Probably wrong password or unsupported/legacy encryption” What encryption type(s) have you picked for your VPN? Have you tried other ones? It’s not that OpenVPN client 2.6.3 doesn’t work, but more likely you have legacy items in your config
Im using GCM-256, SHA256, CHACHAPOLY, which works on a peer to peer.
I have check and this version is not supported for the moment, openssl version issue, I tested and 2.59 is the last one capable.
This a thread at pfsense forum related to this.
Them, we have to wait, thanks.

Thank you for the update. I wasn’t aware of an issue supporting the latest OpenSSL version
UPDATE: To fix this, we can use the latest version from openvpn client, we just need to use the inline config from the exporter.
