Apologies if the screenshot is small, but hopefully it is still readable.
Not connected to the VPN, why is NordLynx in my network list (that appears when you hover your mouse pointer over the WiFi icon in the taskbar)? How do I remove it?
Nothing wrong. Nord installs some virtual networking components and Windows is just showing you that it’s connected, available, but does not have internet access (which it shouldn’t if you’re not connected to VPN). You don’t remove it. The only way you can (that I know of) is if you remove the adapters themselves, which would break your VPN entirely.
I keep having this issue. NordLynx is phenomenal, I’ve had great results using it, but the problem is that it keeps trying to enable itself as the default. When I’m not connected to the VPN and it suddenly decides to route all my traffic through NordLynx, it effectively cuts off my internet and I’m forced to disconnect and reconnect to my router to fix it. Absolutely infuriating.
Right click on start menu > network connections > On right side > change adapter settings > on this page you can see the network adapters available this is why when you hover over your network icon you see a list of adapters its nothing to worry about.
Do not remove it. Its not active unless you turn on nordlynx in your nord application. Same for the nordvpn tap adapter it not active unless connected to vpn.
How do you use NordLynx ?
I’m also having issues with nordlynx. My internet keeps disconnecting and attempting to reconnect to nordlynx. Cuts out probably once every hour or two.
I had this and asked a week back someone said when not in use just go to task manager and end nordvpn and all instances of it, and it’s gone!
Same here. Does this compromise speed? I’ve been having very low speeds the last few days since I noticed the nordlynx connection like OP
Go into Device Manager and delete Nordlynx under Network Adapters. That will getrid of it from network connections.
I’m not sure you can. I don’t use NordLynx because it binds all your traffic to one IP address, when I like to keep things moving around different countries so as to avoid my ISP spyware. It was part of the new update. Either rollback to previous version or just go into your settings on the nord app and set it up to manually select server (I think)
Yep, might be able to disabled it in Network Adapters page, but would likely have to be re-enabled before connecting to VPN again.
It actually compromises your security and privacy. In other words, it exposes your internet activity to governments, second actors and ISP.
