The latest updates are horrible, them interface to do basic things has gone from bad to worse, but the WORST was adding your turd email signature “virus free” to the gmail outbound emails. GTFO here.
I can’t be the only one hating on these updates and switching products.

Avast bought AVG, Norton bought Avast. So now they’re in the same mud together.
I used Norton for a year since I got deluxe for $9.99 (originally costing like $59.99), and it included VPN, password manager etc. That’s the only reason I went for it.
Otherwise, I’d switch to Bitdefender. Or Kaspersky if you’re outside of the U.S.
Norton isn’t worth it. Neither is Avast, AVG, McAfee and the other garbage AVs. Windows Defender isn’t a good option either.
Norton consumer products have been hot garbage for as long as I can remember… and I’m old, lol

where have you been? norton were decent during Windows XP days but trash since then
also Avira belong to the same group.

The Avira AV engine is not half bad. Personally I find it a suitable complement to the Sophos AV engine on the Sophos UTM/NGFW.
As far as a host AV is concerned, I agree, better host AVs definitely exist.
Yeah, there was one I missed but I forgot which one.
