No "VPN" icon showing up on iPhone, even though connected?

Hey all,

First of all, I just bought the lifetime deal today and I’m very happy I did!

However, after installing the app on my phone, I’m not seeing the VPN icon (in a box that usually resides next to the battery or wifi symbol) on the top bar of my phone. Does this mean it isn’t working? Under Settings, both the VPN toggle and the “Connected” toggle are green and Windscribe is selected, which suggests it’s working as it should be? I’m just a little confused.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you typed “ip address” into Google to check if your IP has changed to the Windscribe one? At least that way you’ll know you’re protected…

Windscribe iOS app creates an on-demand profile, which basically means the VPN is turned on by iOS automatically when it needs to send/receive data, and is disconnected when there is no network activity to save battery. There is no chance of leaks, as the OS will always wait for the VPN connection to be established before it will send or receive data.

Good call! Apparently it works on my laptop, but not on my iPhone…
