No ExpressVPN app running on Windows 11 ARM?

Do I understand it correctly that if I switch to Windows 11 ARM (Surface Pro 11), I would need to find another VPN provider as ExpressVPN doesn’t support Windows 11 ARM?

We just launched an ExpressVPN ARM application — you can download ExpressVPN for Copilot+ PCs on our Windows VPN download page.

Yes, you actually answered your own question.

Haven’t tried it with windows on arm myself, but I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to use OpenVPN. There is an ARM64 build of OpenVPN and then you should be able to use the manual configuration settings for the ExpressVPN servers that you find in your account.

Half the apps I use are not working on my new Surface 11 pro. What a piece of shit.

What about being able to download it on a Surface Pro 11th edition

The question is, will they support it once lots of people are on Windows on ARM?

OpenVPN arm64 works fine on my SP11

I did read on one or the SP11 reviews that ExpressVPN plans for an Arm64 app as they’d reached out to Expressvpn. I can’t remember which review though!

Edit: here Beware: Most VPN apps won't work on Copilot Plus PCs (Updated) - Android Authority

I didn’t my think there will be enough people on Windows, on ARM, and needing ExpressVPN specifically.

I think most people will buy Windows on ARM. It’s such a no-brained: 2x the performance and 2x the battery life of an x86 laptop, and it’s cheaper. Most pros won’t know the difference and will just go with a laptop that’s cheaper, faster and has a claimed 22 hour battery life vs. one that has a claimed 12 hour…

If you’re buying it for school or work, fine. But it’s not a gaming platform. For what you would pay for a pretty decent gaming laptop, the surface pro is still more expensive.

Man they said that back in 2016 as well… it hasn’t caught on, and it won’t until they have more robust emulation tools to support the x86 apps which most software companies still make.

Absolutely. It’s not a gaming device. It’s designed for productivity. If you go into any business class lounge at any airport in the world, 70% of the people rock a Surface Pro in those lounges. That’s what it’s designed for: business travel / school. And nothing even comes close for that use case. I know because both me and my wife have been trying to ditch our surface pros (due to their poor battery life and software issues) for about 5-6 years now. We’ve tried a couple alternative devices, and returned them both.
