SSL ERROR!
Have not been able watch Netflix on apple tv because of SSL error.
Does not matter what I do. Delete app, wait 15 minutes, change servers. As soon as I hit play “SSL ERROR”
When contacting Express VPN, all they say is that the problem is on my side.
Being sold to third party and firing all their software engineers was the worst move express made.
Delete the Express VPN app, log out of Netflix, restart Apple TV, log back in to Netflix, then re-download Express VPN. Hope it helps.
I get this message from NordVPN and too. Netflix doesn’t want you to use a vpn.
Yeah ExpressVPN isn’t working at all for me on any devices (Apple TV, iPad or MacBook) when trying to use Netflix and connecting to any of the UK servers.
Dear OP, the title line of your post is incorrect.
Same issue! Netflix is not stable, I tried New York server and it seems to work. Hopefully they will do something soon.
have you tried a different VPN?
Just cut it and switch to NordVPN. Yeah, they lagged to put out the Apple TV app, but it’s worth it, no problems with streams.
US - Seattle has worked like a dream.
I usually use US - Miami for everything else.
Honestly it’s trial and error (keep restarting the closing and opening Netflix at least 3 times or restarting Apple TV) if you don’t want to switch to US - Seattle every time you want to use Netflix.
As for servers in other countries, I’ve only used Canada - Vancouver and Japan for Netflix.

Honestly, wasted $130 dollars.I have always owned android devices(Nvidia Shield, CCWTV, etc).
I have never owned an apple tv. The only reason I bought one after all these years was because it was finally getting native vpn support.
Now, is just collecting dust. Went back to android.
Same issue, it’s only something to do with the app and Apple tv though as we also have a chromecast with NordVPN and Netflix works completely fine. Same VPN server connection and everything, my suspicion is Apple TV is working with Netflix to stop VPN access from working, whether ExpressVPN or NordVPN
Seattle does too. Consistently. So weird because it’s only Apple TV with the Netflix issues for me. Every other device is perfectly fine on any server basically.
I will give it a shot.
