My school is blocking everything

They gone overboard with the blocking thing what if the teachers need to search for something on the web but can’t it’s blocked here what ya need to do make a petition to get rid of the block thing and send to superintendent of the school board or district

download a bunch of games at home or just watch youtube ig, you can also go on chromewebstore and download a few shitty games there like tetrys, you can also download hotspot shield vpn at home and then connect at school which will bypass the webfilter

Do what I did in school.

Put a copy of Halo CE Multiplayer on a flash drive and install it on every computer in the library.

My school just blocked block blast  I hate linewise

use the chrome signin tab, it basically acts as a virtual machine. find a link to github or youtube somewhere to access google, you need to play around with it a bit though because different schools ban different things

if your school is JUST banning chatgpt though, finding google should be easier

have you tried unblocked games 76 there is a bunch of sites like that and usually they aren’t all blocked
also icycle is a game i play all the time on a website that isnt blocked i know this isnt helpful cos i dont remember the website but i swear i can check when i get my laptop

Well. VPNs were not traditionally a service. Traditionally they were a piece of hardware that plugged into a network, for example you could plug one straight into your router at home. They were not the most simple thing to set up, but it wasn’t outside the capabilities of someone who could read a manual.

Nowadays many WiFi routers actually have VPN functionality built in. Usually in the advanced settings of their web interface. On mine I go in, toggle the feature on, generate a security token, download the token, email it to myself, and open it in the VPN app on my phone from the email. It will create a profile called “Home” from which I can connect to my router from anywhere I have service or WiFi.

There are several benefits. You get around the censorships of public networks, depending on how strict their protocols are. (They may have what is called a whitelist of approved web connections and your home network won’t be on it.) It’s generally good for privacy. I can access files on my computer and the USB drive attached to my router. And if I connected a PS Portal to my hotspot I could use it remotely, though there’d probably be a monstrous amount of latency.

Also try using the google translate site. That used to work when I was in highschool. Just set it to translate from English to English and then you have a webpage-in-webpage view of the site funneled through Translate servers which may not be blocked.

chatgpt is justified

If only their ability to teach grammar was as good as their ability to block web sites.

hhttps://bobreed24.github.io/Website/ is a little thing I made with tons of games and active updates

Try connecting your computer to a phone’s hotspot. You could also try searching for the game you want to play, followed by ‘unblocked.’ That’s what I used to do.

Students being upset over chatgpt being banned is genuinely making me feel hopeless about the future

So: I have a few ways to feel about this. (TL;DR at end)

  1. Do you finish your work before a class ends? I acknowledge that many other people in these replies are saying “just do your work” (and some leaving it at that), but I feel that if possible, you could ask if it’s possible for a certain domain/site to be unblocked if you have all work done in a given class. My school(s) have all used GoGuardian, but I’m not sure if “Linewize” can do that as well.

  2. Are there any other activities that can occupy you? I know that when I get finished with all work at hand, and do not have any other missing assignments, I ask my teacher to turn off Teacher GoGuardian (for certain sites only) so that I can work on tasks from other classes. However, this isn’t always my go-to. Sometimes I take a little time to recap what I am currently learning in Japanese: I write some phrases and ask myself questions in Japanese so that I can better absorb the information. In general, I also write in journals, or come up with puzzles/word problems to solve. Also, as you may have expected: you could read a book. Maybe you have a book report? Maybe you have a project about a book in question? Or maybe you just want to read for fun. You could be able to take any free time and read a book if your teacher lets you. Or maybe if you have anything to prepare/practice for in general.

  3. As you may have expected: If you have to worry about this, and not because you only play games and visit these sites when there aren’t any assignments left to complete, but rather during instruction… this may be for your own good. Now if you’re being proactive with your time and not playing games during instruction, I recommend 1. However, if you do this while your teacher is teaching, or while you have an assignment to finish… you may be focused on the wrong thing, and you may just need to do your work.

I put 3. as the last point because: although a lot of people (at my school) who complain about blocked sites were spending all of their class time on the sites instead of doing work, I don’t want to assume you just slack off and play games; this question could also be coming from the fact that you only use the sites during the free time you have.

So in summary: Find other activities to do, or if you haven’t already, do your work. Have a great day :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Use a personal device

Of there is a valid purpose for those apps, bring it up to the dean/AP/head of IT.

Linewize is annoying as hell

Semantris

Kahn academy

Edy’s vehicle physics demo

All games that are usually not blocked

Lookup Chromebooks are racist. Thank me later

Wikipedia was my greatest timesink. Even while games were unblocked, I dedicated hours to reading and learning. Both about random topics, and even Wikipedia’s internal processes. If you’re smart, they won’t block Wikipedia no matter what, especially since it’s technically an educational/informative thing and they’d get into hot water legally blocking it.

Go home, download some games from internet archive or smth like that, and just click on the file and play it in schl

For one, banning chat gpt is a good thing, its a bandaid fix for people who dont wanna do the work, 2nd, look up xvpn. At the very least that was the one that could get passed my schools firewalls, or just use your mobile data. Every phone plan comes with it gold standard these days and your schools firewalls cant effect something thats not on their network
