Multi-User Editing in UE5 using Hamachi

Hi,

I tried to use Multi-User Editing with my friends, and we decided to use Hamachi. We updated our UE5 to 5.2.1 version and shared the same project via github. We followed official unreal engine tutorial :HERE. I can see my friend’s session in UE5 but when i try to join, it keeps saying “Joining session” forever. How would i go about fixing it?

You don’t really need a VPN, just port forward to the server and do it without. Works fine.

Maybe his firewall is blocking the connection, or he might need to set up port forwarding

For everyone with the same problem:
I found the cause (unfortunately still working on the solution). You have to have direct tunneling in Hamachi with your host (there has to be a green dot next to his name in Hamachi, not blue). I tried to add it to my firewall exceptions, turn off the firewall entirely, and change my network settings, but nothing seemed to work. I will try port forwarding and hope for the best.

Guys, i found a solution!!. Since hamachi is really hard to work with, i decided to switch to radmin. It worked beautifully on the first try. Hope i helped someone

Did your mate have to have to use Radmin at all? Or is it just you and you connect to him?

We all had to connect to the vlan that radmin created, and the host then shares his ue5 project using multiuser editing.
