LetsVPN working?

Has anyone use LetsVPN in China yet? I’m gonna have a local SIM card from China and was wondering if LetsVPN works. I don’t want to pay the price for Astrill VPN.

I’ve seen a lot of comments from users I don’t recognize recently talking about how LetsVPN is a great alternative for bypassing the Great Firewall, all within the last several weeks. I’d never heard of this VPN provider before that.

That makes me very nervous because it strikes me as very similar to the organized, paid viral marketing that ExpressVPN operated on Reddit circa five years ago. They praised it to the skies but, well, anyone who’s done their rounds in China can tell you that Express was terrible compared to almost every other alternative, being slow and unreliable to an extreme and often just not working at all.

Later, ExpressVPN was discovered to have offices in Hong Kong (and therefore be subject to PRC law and surveillance) in spite of their often-repeated marketing claim that they were based in the British Virgin Islands. After users here started posting links to that discovery under every post and comment that looked like viral marketing for Express, they seemed to give up the effort.

I’m curious whether anyone who’s been around for a while has been using Lets and has something to say about it.

Express works in a very small amount of locations they have listed on their site. But it is slow and unreliable. I already pay for express as I am Australian and I can use it perfectly fine.

However I talk to Mainland Chinese and I personally purchased LetsVPN after getting frustrated with the slow connection and multiple switching they had to do with expressvpn. I gave them access to the account and it has honestly been a god sent. Very fast and reliable that they no longer even use their gameVPN and we talk on discord and watch videos with ease together, I can even share my screen in high quality and FOS and they are able to enjoy movies and games I share. The sign up and how it’s run was a bit scary and I don’t know how they operate or anything, but as a working VPN in china it is amazing.

I also have never heard about it 2 months ago, but it works in China right now without issues. Very recommended, no I am not sponsored  Basic version works for 2 devices but you cant choose region, it sets automatically usually to hong kong.

I visited Chengdu between 17-26th August. Letsvpn worked perfectly fine for me.

• I got the standard 1 week plan for $1.99 and received access for 11 days.

• I only have 1 device (mobile) and used it with a local travel SIM.

• Apps I used: Whatsapp, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, Gmail, Prime video, Facebook, Messenger

• I downloaded the app from Google Play store before arriving. Once I was in China, I activated the trial to test if it was working before actually paying for a plan. Note that once you start the trial, the 60mins timer runs even when you’ve disconnected the vpn.

Overall no issues or complaints. I had some minor setback with payment but the customer service chat was very quick to respond and sort it out (the issue was from my payment app rather than letsvpn).

I’m currently in China, Liaoning using LetsVPN. The phone app barely works for me (sends notifications on Discord and Youtube but doesn’t actually load the apps), however the windows software works pretty well. I have it set to Korea and I can watch Youtube at 1080p after like 5 seconds of buffering. 4 Stars, could be faster, but worth it for the price.

LetsVPN is very good in China. The only problem is the payment, it’s difficult to pay as a foreigner, it is a pain in the ass and the only reason why people might change.

I used it 6 months ago when I was having issues with express. A Chinese guy recommended it using its Chinese name. I assumed it was a Chinese vpn provider and it does have everything in Chinese as well as options to pay with alipay.

It worked extremely well for me the whole time. The reason I didn’t continue is because, at the time, they just had phone apps. I think they do now have desktop software though…

If you don’t pay for a good vpn you pay with shit internet and connection at best.

I’ve been using letsvpn in China for the last 2 weeks, with a China Mobile (mainland) 5G sim. It’s working brilliantly. Connects quickly and fast speeds ie 10s Mbps, Very impressed. Only bug is that in the ipad app the screen is forced to portrait , but that’s only to select region/connect and is purely cosmetic.

This is an old thread (5 mo at the time of posting) but we traveled in China for 3 months and I was recommended this vpn and i was sus about getting it because i have no idea where its from nor how it works. However, It worked normally I use Astril or Express while traveling but getting express to work in China was impossible, astril was limited and needed mannually reconnected on the phone. This just worked. It is still SUPER sketchy, but I recommended it to a friend who lives there. For nearly a year they used it with little issues. It seems fast, but again super sketchy company there is little to no information on them.

I’m now in China! Bought the standard plan (1 week: 1,99$). Worked fine in Tibet, Guangzhou and Chengdu!

I just came back from China and express vpn did not working at all… that is my experence.

Why is it asking to pay by Google Pay only?

AND, AND,AND they ask you to type in your Gmail password?

If you use Google pay you usually don’t need to provide any information relating to you google account.

Very sketchy…

Worked this month (August 2023).

Its been working for me for the past 2 months now. I paid the Astril price for a month to be safe , then thought i’d give this seemingly sketchy AF VPN a try. I can confirm it works well. It connects so quickly I thought for sure it was a gimick. Cheers

Is it still working?

What kind of payments do the accept?

Do u know if it’s working as of now? And if you’re able to share subscriptions?

Are you able to use on multiple devices, like they claim? I can’t find any way to do it.
