Option2) Install Adguard app (free) AdGuard — adblock&privacy on the App Store and switch Protection on for Safari (its free)
Your official Youtube app will have an option to play video without ads - Go to the video on your YT app>Share>go right>More>Block Youtube Ads (by AdGuard)
It will open the video in a desktop view with smaller controls, but its a small compromise. This method would be better if youre watching one video in particular.

At home you can use pihole, but it does not work with yt.

Most apps have a website counterpart, try those (for example youtube.co.uk instead of the app)
