I’m a US resident in the US with a US GV account. I noticed today that when my Windows 10 PC connects to a US NordVPN server, the GV web interface won’t load completely. If I have already loaded the web interface while disconnected, and then connect to a VPN, my SMS messages fail to send. I have tried multiple browsers, incognito, clearing browser data, all the usual troubleshooting.
What’s odd is, this behavior doesn’t extend to Android devices, which work perfectly over NordVPN.
A product expect claimed GV is “not supported” over VPN, which is, of course, not a very satisfying answer. Seems arbitrary that the web doesn’t work when mobile apps do. Legacy GV loads, and I can send and receive phone calls, but SMS still doesn’t work. Also, all GV interfaces work over my employer’s private VPN. So whatever is going on seems targeted at commercial VPN providers.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior? A web search turned up nothing (other than articles explaining how services like NordVPN are a great way to access GV outside of the US 
)
