Is Google one VPN good?

Like does it give me a little privacy and can my ISP see what I’m doing?

Your ISP can’t see what you’re doing but Google can so you just switch who you have to trust. Google says it doesn’t log traffic or anything personal. Your real IP address also gets hidden from anyone who’s not Google, I know someone else said it doesn’t, but it does if the VPN is connected properly.

Like others said, it can disconnect abruptly, it’s happened to me. The article below mentions a “killswitch” function, but my Pixel 7 Pro in the US doesn’t have it, very annoying that this feature is only available to “some devices”.

You cannot change regions like other commercial VPNs, but you can widen the area so you cannot be pinpointed too accurately.

I like it for public WiFi, especially at airports where they throttle your usage

Good enough to use in public WiFi

Good for privacy from ISP, but lacking good features like location selection.

No. Can’t specify location.

One of the things I don’t like is there is no kill switch. So, if it disconnects, you have no idea until you notice.

People spout about the google vpn not having privacy and totally don’t shill on their personal favourite.

In reality, nobody knows what sort of information is being farmed from any type of VPN unless you host your own.

Giving you “extra security” is a lie, VPNs love selling on that gimmick.

At most, they make it look like you are somewhere else.

I use Google one VPN and I don’t expect extra privacy or security with it, I purely use it to bypass geoblocks

For security → yes
For privacy → No

If you want to stay connected to the Internet for more than 30 minutes at a time? Hell no. Anything I use the VPN on constantly kicks me off the internet. I have to toggle on and off to connect back, just to get kicked again not long after. I disconnect from the VPN and have 0 issues and stay connected.

Use a real VPN unless you want Google knowing what you’re doing. It also doesn’t truly mask your IP address. Worthless.

Get a real VPN, not one from a company that used to have to motto of “Don’t Be Evil”, but then dropped it.

I use EspressVPN. They do not keep logs (very important). It’s not free, but no decent VPN is. I’m not a shill, just a happy customer.

There are over 100 VPN services available on the internet but not many have all the features like high speed, security, dedicated IP and good user interface. After a lot of research and testing over 25 VPN services i managed to find the VPN which offers all the features, highly reliable and costs just few dollars a month. If you are looking to get the best VPN in 2024 at 75% OFF, I highly recommend you check out VPNspecialoffer(Dot)com (type & Search it directly in your address bar)

It literally doesn’t block ads so its useless to me

I mostly travel abroad and the countries I went to this summer, google didn’t even support it. So for me, it’s useless

I’ve had it enabled since it was first available in the UK and it’s never given me issues on my P7. Make sure to disable that main notification via android notification settings for the app.

It works and probably has a lot of servers but you cannot choose your location. Google says they will not sell your online activity using the vpn but I am a little skeptical.

It’s great, but you have an admin… Also you should look into Google’s DNS as well for extra security and privacy.

Sure it prevents your ISP from seeing what websites you go to, but in return all your data goes through Google’s servers. So you’re just switching who you trust with your data. I don’t really see why you’d need to hide your browsing history from your ISP.

Installed VPN for Google One on my laptop connected by cable directly to router. Google’s own speed test shows that my network download speed went from 446 Mbps to 160 Mbps. I first noticed the problem while on a Google Meet video conference call where the connection was too weak to keep my cam on. Customer service was as useless as the VPN. Very disappointing.
