So, I went to an IP Address Lookup website when I wasn’t connected to my VPN. There, I got an IP Address of myself which appeared when I went to the site. The IP Address was different than my real address. For example, the IP address that the website gave was different than the IP address that would match my real address. Why is this like this? Am I practically immune to getting my real address leaked, even if someone steals my IP address?
How are you determining your “real” address if you think the site is wrong?
Sorry for being unclear. I went to a website like this (Not exactly this) (https://whatismyipaddress.com/) to see if it can guess my IP address without me having a VPN on. Turns out the IP address it showed is inaccurate. So, am I immune to people seeing my IP address?
I am asking how you determined that the IP it showed you was inaccurate. You are absolutely, definitely coming from the IP on that site, there is no guessing involved. So where are you looking that you trust more and is showing you a different address?
