How does Russia block VPN services?

It is an interesting parallel but there are probably many things like traffic volume, IPs and keywords. I wouldn’t be surprised if they now use more advanced graph DBs, indexing and ML like clustering or even LLMs to prevent unwanted content. Question was specifically for VPN, but an interesting related read would be https://censorbib.nymity.ch/pdf/Lowe2007a.pdf

If you download straight from site and dont configure it with new working bridges it would not work. You can find bridges in telegram very easy.

This doesn’t help me tunnel into my network ops though.

Just use another IP/VPN

Aryaka into China is bulletproof for us.

They had API gateway VMs in Azure/GCP/AWS, and they used Google/Apple push notification to push new IPs as soon as old API gateway IP was banned.

This forced Russia to ban Google/Apple push IPs and IP-range ban Azure/GCP/AWS, causing a lot of collateral damage, so they gave up.

Hmm i might be confusing something then. I thought it did help me when i combined it with using common ports like 80 and 443 while traveling. Might have been just port blocking then. Mullvad does have bridge mode too, that op can try. Not selling mullvad, just used it before successfully.

hmm wouldn’t it trigger them to ask telegram to BYOIP? I saw that cloudflare did it recently with business that are illegal in some countries like casinos
