How can I buy a game dlc from a different region?

I want to buy a dlc for forza horizon 5 but in my region, its more than TRIPLE the price compared to the US store. How can I buy it for the original 5$ pricing?

I tried buying from US store but it didn’t accept my credit card. I then even used VPN but I still couldn’t get it. Is there any other way? Im fine to even buy it from some 3rd party website. I just want it for the original 5$ price.

i think your credit card isnt supported so best buy a gift card online and then vpn to claim it

Common sense. If Microsoft just let people switch their store region and buy stuff with their credit card, everyone would just switch their store region to Argentina.

When buying directly from the Microsoft store, you payment and billing address has to match the store region. You could buy codes from other regions on key seller sites, then redeem them at redeem.microosft.com with a VPN. however I have see a few complaints the last few days that people are having issues with the redeem site with VPN, so not sure if Microsoft is trying to block VPNs from redeeming codes. Might just have to try different VPNs

After configuration of your vpn dnt forget to switch the country on your console settings. If it dnt work then idk

I’ve was using vpn for Xbox game /dlc / season pass keys on sites like gamivo, and gameseal, G2A. I made sure to purchase using PayPal. Xbox content seems to be priced significantly less in countries like Egypt and Argentina. I buy those cheap keys and use a vpn to activate in Canada. Managed to get 3 years of Gamepass ultimate for $150 CAD a while back combined with the 1 dollar conversion from live to gpu 1:1.

Oh yeah, yesterday I had problems redeeming some codes, I got an error message, later I was able to claim them. It had never happened to me before, until yesterday.

I tried searching on those websites but I couldn’t find the DLC. I found it on gameflip but Im not sure if it will work? In the title it say US but there are no region restrictions. Will I be able to redeem it if I buy one?

Something like this happened a couple of years ago, where people were having issues with VPN for a few days, but then reports started coming out that people in Turkey also couldn’t redeem codes. So it was either a glitch at the time or Microsoft has been testing the waters of banning known VPN servers

Yeah you should be able to buy the US version and redeem it. I use CyberGhost VPN paid for 3 years awhile ago when it was on sale. The free ones might work like tunnelbear. USA should be on the free ones unlike Egypt, Argentina and other small countries.

Steps
1.Buy a key from a reputable site or ensure site has reputable payment systems like PayPal. (If things go sideways you can get a refund and your card info won’t be compromised)

  1. Enable vpn to USA on your phone

  2. Go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/ your account will show your home me country but don’t worry since the von is enabled it should work.

The last time I redeemed something was in January 2024 and got cyberpunk ultimate edition. Not sure if this method still works but it should so buy at your own risk.

I already had Indian card but I don’t have vpn. I realized I didn’t need one so I just got it through the Microsoft store. Thanks though for the insight…. Next time I can buy it from there for much cheaper.
