I was searching around to see how these streamers always get into bot lobbies and play so good while I get my ass kicked. So naturally I was made aware of the vpn method. It’s technically cheating? Because the stats you get are counted into your actual profile(KD and other stats)
So my question is, why isn’t Activision banning these cheaters.
Bc VPNing isn’t considered cheating and if my job was to play 8 hours a day I would try to find some bot lobbies too. Streaming would turn into a job real fast in these sweaty ass lobbies.
VPNing used to be a big thing. Not so much anymore. It doesn’t automatically get you into “bot lobbies” either. It sends part of your traffic to a far away location, to trick the matchmaking into thinking you’re on a poor connection, therefore the matchmaking will prioritize your ping over everything else. This means it will put you into the closest available server to you. This can have very mixed results, as your closest server could be an average 0.5KD lobby or a lobby full of demons.
So it’s essentially like older CODs, just being put into a game based on ping rather than by skill or other metrics. Again, not at all guaranteed bot lobbies, it just creates randomisation in the average skill of the lobby.
The thing is, there were so so many sweaty players using VPNs by the time Warzone 2 was halfway into its lifecycle, that basically all the sweats from certain regions were all just getting thrown in with each other all the time. At times, you actually got better lobbies by not using a VPN.
The most common method you’ll probably see in use on YouTube content now is “2-boxing”. This entails someone using two systems. One with 1-2 accounts on one system, with really shitty stats, hosting a lobby - this system finds a game. Then the player joins that game and enjoys the bot lobby. This obviously is a lot less easy to abuse than a VPN, simply because not everyone has the equipment.
People need to look into the benefits of VPN instead of gaming alone , why its not cheating and look into privacy and security perspective. Location wise, it does not matter say you are physically travelling or studying abroad short or long term and you need to play, they should be allowed to play no matter where you are. Activision is allwing this loop hole or bot lobbies not really just because of VPN actually, look up recent Nixstah recent expose how his screen is weirdly on repeat, prematch and post match. A streamer has mentioned an EU server lobbies are much harder than US lobbies, you might see US streamers good ones dominating the lobbies more. These streamers dont ruined anyone lobbies atleast, but they are scamming the massve audience is more of an actual concern.
They’re not playing good, their opponents are just really bad. Take Zlaner for example, that guy went to the tournament on LAN and got 0 kills. Activision doesn’t do shit and that’s why the tournaments in-person are a good way to see who’s actually good.
Most of the good streamers you see are good because they play so damn much and the content they cut and edit for a YT video is that uncommon bot lobby they get once or twice a day or whatever.
I get some mid to low level streamers probably use VPNs but let’s take the tin foil hats off for a second and agree that the more popular ones, especially those that compete in tourneys and LAN, are not doing it. If you think they are and you think that’s why you’re getting shit on game after game then you need educating on how to get better at the game.
Also I’m of the mind that using a VPN, if they actually work the way people think they do, should be considered as cheating. Play the game as intended or don’t play at all
Highly debatable. As per Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy, ‘Any user who utilizes any code and/or software not authorized by Activision that can be used in connection with the game and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay or other activity, including to gain an unfair advantage, manipulate stats, and/or manipulate game data, is subject to penalty.’.
Using software not authorised by Activision? Yes
Does it change or facilitate gameplay or other activity? Yes, matchmaking
Does it give an unfair advantage? Yes, and if there was no advantage people wouldn’t use them.
Yeah shoutout to my boy Destroy and Clutchbelk, they carried that shit like no one else would. In fact I started watching Destroy after that tourney beamy
