I have Tor downloaded, but I don’t want to go to darkweb without VPN. I haven’t found anywhere if you can even go there without it.
Fair enough. Honestly though, Tor is one of the safest browsers you can be on. Re-routes your traffic through three different servers, which is why it’s so infamous for having illegal websites and such.
Even if you just want a safer browsing experience, where your isp can’t track you, I would highly recommend at least downloading it. Its whole purpose is true privacy, and that, honestly, is probably why so many governments hate it

To be fair, Tor recommends not using a VPN with the browser unless you know how to configure it properly.
If you’re worried about viruses, consider installing Tails on a USB stick and using Tor from there. Tails is highly secure, so you won’t have to worry about getting hacked or dealing with viruses.
