"Have you been bullied by overly powerful decks in the arena recently? I will reveal the story behind it and the black market industry."

“Hello to all Hearthstone players. I am a Hearthstone player from China. To begin with the conclusion, most of the super powerful decks that players encounter are sold through scripts used by Chinese e-commerce platforms.”

So just to make sure I understand, they abuse the cheap arena tickets to keep drafting arena decks until they build an OP one, then somehow sell that deck to other players?

"By posting on Reddit, I hope to raise awareness among Hearthstone players worldwide and provide feedback to Blizzard on this issue. For example, they could increase the severity of script bans or eliminate tearing accounts altogether.

Of course, if they were to ban Chinese IPs, I have nothing to say. I would just switch to another game. I am tired of playing in an environment where these dirty script tearing accounts and streamers who ignore the game environment for the sake of viewership exist."

“I may repost this thread again when more people are online due to the time difference, and hope to get help from all Hearthstone players.”

"Many Chinese Hearthstone players use “tearing account” (discard unwanted cards to get powerful decks) as a way to vent their emotions after the suspension of the Chinese server. However, I believe this is just their excuse, as they also enjoy doing it on the Chinese server.

In China, the price for a pack containing 450 gold and one arena ticket is 1.5 yuan (0.21 USD), while a pack containing 1100 gold and two arena tickets is 5.5 yuan (0.79 USD). Such low prices are one of the reasons for the proliferation of tearing accounts."

“Normal players like us cannot have a fair match against these super powerful tearing accounts. The activity conducted by the Chinese live streaming platform has helped online merchants to sell out their gold accounts, yes, script gold accounts sold out! How ridiculous is that!”

"Outside of the activity, many Chinese streamers also accept super powerful tearing accounts for the sake of increasing their viewership. This behavior is called “submission.”

The price ranges from 60-100 yuan (8.6-14.4 USD). I don’t know how you feel about this behavior, but personally, I find it very distasteful."

“The most important reason is the strong promotion and rewards given by Chinese Hearthstone streamers and live streaming platforms for tearing accounts!”

"Recently, the Chinese live streaming platform “DouYu” launched a themed fun activity called “Arena Series Theme Fun Activity,” in which they exchanged 60 yuan (8.6 USD) for players’ super powerful tearing accounts.

For example, accounts with Priest decks containing 7 or more dirty cards, Warrior decks with 6 or more rares, or Warrior decks with 2 copies of Brawl, and so on, with even stronger decks in reality. These are some of the decks used in the activity that I have captured."

"Additionally, the fans of these card ripping streamers who want to interact with the streamer engage in a behavior called “sniping”.

Fans may use even stronger ripping decks to “snipe” and defeat the streamer in order to gain attention. This has caused many normal players to be affected. This is also one of the negative influences caused by these card ripping streamers in China."

Blizzard won’t care, because it’s pure benefit for them.

Now I understand why sometimes I face powerful decks in a row with the same sequence of cards (I know it’s complicated to determine but it tickled my spider sense) I was saying to myself, how is possible he is having the same combo? I know the present Arena rotation is busted and you can make very powerful one sided decks but I felt something was wrong. Thank you for the info, I hope they do something with Arena, it’s my favorite game mode.

Filter their ip-ranges, that would get rid of most of them, it is what china does to the west, have it work both ways.

Also find some option to battle the bots, but I guess activision is not into that

The two most obvious solutions would either be: Catch and ban bot activity (which is a cat-and-mouse game), or to raise both the entry costs and rewards. I can only imagine the backlash from the second solution.

I appreciate OP for elevating this issue. I mostly play arena when I’m playing HS, and it’s definitely frustrating these days with frequent queueing into accounts with names like “fdadfss” or “lkjflksklj.”

I wrote up a post about this for r/ArenaHS that ended up not being allowed on there because it involved using one of these “botted” accounts - the gist is that it’s pretty easy to buy this type of account, even in NA, though they’re not quite so cheap. An account with 3000 gold (20 arena runs) will run you about $7. That would be 3.5 runs bought through the game client.

Kolst has talked about this issue a little bit on his streams and has a good take - he calls these accounts “barcode accounts,” and says that they are a sort of “tax” on the arena system that is paid for by all arena players. They take away a little fun (as well as maybe a couple of wins) for everyone except the person who’s using them, whether that’s a streamer or just someone who wanted to make their money go a little further by buying an alt account with a nice gold stockpile.

It seems like removing the retire button might be a simple and “good enough” solution, but other than that, I’m not sure what can be done to address this. It’s a bummer for those of us here who enjoy the arena.

So you’re saying people just buy accounts with super OP arena decks? What’s the point? Easy 12 wins I guess but you still are using real money to get it.

So this is why I got 4 wins between 5 arena runs lol

I have noticed I ALWAYS lose my first arena match lately and then go on to normal success (sometimes 3 wins sometimes 10). But the first opponent is always running a nutty deck

Jezz I was wondering how is it possible to build such a powerful deck in arena and thinking to myself am I the only one getting bullshit cards

I wonder if this happens on EU servers as well, because I’ve been facing OP decks in arena far too often.

The arena regulars have known this for a while now and there have been several discussions on the arena sub reddit

so at what time generally these people play? to avoid these p2w fuckers

Seems like only streamers are doing it so the easy solution would just be to ban them.
