Google VPN keeps crashing

My VPN by Google keeps crashing. All network connectivity just stops working even my mobile Network and when I try to turn it off from the tile drop down the icon still displays in the banner.

I have to Force Stop my Google One app to get any network access. I have been submitting feedback and crash reports for a couple of months now and still the same issue

This on top of the constant “Your connection is now private” notifications makes me not want to use the service.

Edit: I am seeing reviews on the Google Play Store for the Google One App that are having the same issue as me. So it seems to be pretty wide spread.

Edit 2: left a review on Google play store and support responded saying to clear the cache on the Google One app. VPN hasn’t crashed since but we will see

Edit 3: Clearing Google One cache fix only lasted a couple of days before VPN started freezing again

My Google VPN stopped working 3 updates ago.

This has been happening with my P7 since the April Update. I’ve had to restart my phone each time, it’s really annoying.

Same here… 1-4 days it works then disconnected, not able to re connect without killing the whole app

P7 pro with o2 Germany or WLAN

I think I’ve had this same issue but assumed it was my carrier. How did you determine it was the VPN?

What phone are you using and what (stable) Android version are you on?

same for me, i 've try clear cache & data, unistall and reinstall google one but nothing work for me. (rooted and kirisakura kernel)

Actually had this with my P7P dating back to the March update. Apps and websites wouldn’t open when they had previously without issue. Toggling the VPN off and/or off and back on , clearing caches did nothing. Only a reboot worked. Got to the point where I had to do it twice per day.
Barely use it at this point and am waiting for an update/fix.

I left a review on the play store and they said to clear my cache in the Google One app and it hasn’t happened since

Never had an issue until I started using the VPN. Also it happens when I am on wifi not just cellular

Yeah, this is getting tedious. Last night I did a full wipe short of a factory reset and first thing this morning I had problems.
