Starting about a few months ago, Global VPN Client has stopped working properly.
All I needed to do was match the pre-shared key, name and password and it would work. Now for some reason it connects to the VPN (user shows on monitor) but ping requests all time out and obviously can’t use the Remote Desktop.
All the old users that I set up on the client still work, but new users can’t use the client due to this issue.
Setting it up via L2TP on Windows built in VPN setup works completely fine.
Any ideas?
What do the logs say? Have you called support yet?
Probably not the same fix but I had pretty much the same thing happening. Turns out my VPN user was grabbing an IP on the LAN that was assigned to a printer. Printer somehow got into the DHCP range. SMH. VPN would connect but I couldn’t ping and couldn’t RDP
I had a static IP set for the first IP of the DHCP range. Caused the exact same issue with global VPN.
Oh interesting. Was there a solution for you or did you just stop using the client? I thought DHCP is supposed to prevent IP conflicting, why is it doing it to Sonicwall Client?
I moved the printer outside the DHCP range and then went to find the idiot who put it inside. Once I track them down they will be drawn and quartered! LOL
