Getting err_socket_not_connected on half of the webpages when using VPN with Chrome

anyone know how i can solve this? started for like a month ago and im not able to get rid of it. Ive tried to flush the socket, delete temp files, cookies, changed DNS etc, even uninstalled chrome, but the problem seems to be still there. This is only happening with Chrome and IE. Works fine with firefox and safari!

Seem to be happening when i have the VPN connection on my Mac (im using tunnel, so only one specific app is using the VPN, the rest, including chrome, is bypassing the VPN).

Error message: err_socket_not_connected

Hi there, I have the exact same issue … started few weeks ago. I was suspicious about our own infrastructure until I realized Firefox is working fine. I do not want to switch to another browser, I just want Chrome back in service, this is very annoying.

Have your found a work around or a fix to this ?

Chiming in to issue the same complaint. I’ve tried everything from uninstalling chrome, resetting it from the settings to flushing the socket pools. Absolutely nothing has worked for me.

Just commented in another post with a workaround that worked for me: https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/12afrhy/getting_err_socket_not_connected_with_last_update/jsgbxn5

nope, i switched to firefox

Damn … I’m still searching

I have disabled IPv6, seems to be related. Let’s see how it goes

I confirm it works now, I have change the IPv6 settings on my WiFi adapter to Link Local Only and no more issues

I’ve just done this, and this seems to work.
