Hopefully this guide is easy to understand:
Download process hacker: https://processhacker.sourceforge.io/ - you may have to add this to your antivirus’s exceptions list if it is detected as a virus. It’s not.
Find the processes that are running that you cannot close in task manager, right click and end the process in process hacker. Usually terminate tree does the trick.
Download revo uninstaller: https://www.revouninstaller.com/products/revo-uninstaller-free/
Go to tools, unrecoverable delete, add the malware’s folders to the selection and then click delete.
Put Windows Defender in its max settings with configure defender: https://github.com/AndyFul/ConfigureDefender/raw/master/ConfigureDefender.exe Reboot after doing this.
Run a follow up scan with HitmanPro and if it finds nothing do one with Rogue Killer. Then for safe measure switch to a new AV provider if you haven’t already, Bitdefender is the one I recommend and it’s free: https://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html; Alternatively you can use Kaspersky Free: https://usa.kaspersky.com/free-antivirus.
Run this command after all of this in command prompt (cmd) as an administrator:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Edit: Also, Revo Uninstaller has an autorun option under tools, use this to check for any start ups in both registry and your user profile. Uncheck anything to stop it from running or right click and use the context menu. You can also use it to forcibly remove installed programs by using the uninstall option, run the post-uninstall advanced scan (even if the uninstaller fails) and remove everything it finds. Then reboot.
