Hi, are there any IT geeks that would explain to me how does the Freedom app blocker app works? The only thing I found online was that it uses VPN over your connection to block access to the apps, but that didnt really helped me. I am trying to understand whether it is safe to use or not.

Not an IT geek but Freedom is very annoying from my experience, the VPN will get in the way of some apps even if they are not in the block list. I found I was constantly having to delete the app to use a train ticket app for example, and if Facebook was in the block list then WhatsApp wouldn’t work.
I have been using Opal on my phone which is not VPN based and much more user friendly.
