Feedback after 3 months of use

Hello, three month ago I asked here if I should or not purchase Surfshark (post link). This post is intended to recommend Surfshark to anyone who is hesitant to take it.

I’m coming back to give feedback after 3 months, and contrary to what I read about this Surfshark sub, I find it very good. No bugs, no connection drops or low speed (I have +/- 200mb/s upload and download with my internet connection and it doesn’t go down when the VPN is activated).

So thanks, Surfshark.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your feedback! We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying Surfshark overall. If you run into any issues know that we’re always ready to help.

I’m using it now more than a year with no issues at all. The speed is great getting a gig speed with wireguard protocol.

I’ve had success with windows but can’t whitelist with Linux. It does drop sometimes for me, perhaps giving up on reconnecting after the internet is down for a few minutes, so I force a daily reboot of my computer. No major issues so fat.

I use a Wireguard VPN Router from Down under and connected to USA with Dedicated IP Address using Wireguard Protocol. And get 270 mbps+ . And have not had a Connection issue.

It is truly one of the best out there. If you’re thinking about getting it, go for it without fear. My only criticism is the lack of port forwarding; other than that, it excels in everything.

I had good luck for about six months then it changed.

The only real issue is that it doesn’t work well on Chromebooks.

I subbed ~March/April last year, and honestly I was quite unimpressed. I’d get the end of page error constantly on reddit, various sites straight up wouldn’t work, and I was banned for even trying to join an IRC server when I forgot to turn it off.

That said, it’s been pretty flawless for a few months now - so much so that I’d completely forgotten certain sites never worked.

If it keeps up, I’ll stick with it.

On my Macbook I have very little speed impact, but on all 3 of my Firesticks the speed is severely impacted.

around christmas it was awful. ive decided to stop using it esp after losing quite a bit of down and up speeds while on it. took me a day to troubleshoot the issue. i thought it was my server but after hours of looking into it it was surfshark. i’m planning to use wireguard on my server instead. i might keep surfshark to avoid nat loopback issues with my router though we’ll see

I think, in recent months, it has improved.

used to work flawlessly without the upsell of Dedicated IP

Went from working without even thinking about it to having to reset it constantly.

I’m not going to say it doesn’t work because it does but not as it was in the beginning for me . I’m not sure what changed in the update but something did and it’s just not as simple as on and go.sometimes I have to find a different connection and for say someone older (people I help)they just don’t want to or can’t constantly be hindered by this. For me alone it’s not much of an issue once I knew what was happening.

Did you try update to the latest version? This is quite worrying as I was going to sign up

same brother. I’ve had surfshark for 6+ years. It wasn’t until the last year or so where I’m consistently getting page loading errors on my Mac, IPTV often just doesn’t work, and most recently I’ve had outgoing emails blocked by recipients.

It literally used to work FLAWLESSLY. I never had to think about it – I was just always connected in the background. But now, I’m constantly running into roadblocks.

Dedicated IP’s should be an optional add-on feature, but at this point, it’s a requirement for a seamless experience. Even if I had to troubleshoot every week or two – fine… but multiple times a day is unacceptable.
