Eweka's Black Friday Deal Is Here Early – Dive Into Usenet for €2.50/mo!

is the easynews access w/ unlimited downloads/streams?

Does this stack to existing account?

This seems cheaper than the 44.85 euro for 15 months I have on auto renewal.

I’ve had Eweka for years. What is the VPN info? Is it available for all accounts or just newer ones?

The easynews you provide, is unlimited? And have no limit at all? If there are limits, please clarify. Bytheway Thank You for such a great deal.

Is this worth getting if I have newshosting already?

Almost signed up, but you don’t accept crypto? Hmmm. That gives me pause

I cancelled my sub after like 5 years, it’ll be gone in a few months. The speeds are shit and it’s the worst server to post to.

On #2… I just took the deal and once I entered my email address, it detected I had an account and provided a separate link to log in and PAY for the deal. It Appended the days to my current account (It was going to expired on Dec 2024), then I tried again and it stacked more days (After Paying Again) to my account. I’m good till Jun 2027 (So it indeed added another a total of 30 months). I had been auto-paying for Eweka at a rate of $84 EURO for over 3 years… :man_facepalming:

  1. if you didn’t write it down, ask support

I’d highly highly recommend keeping screenshots in future.

Wtf are you talking about? The price they’re offering is good for months… Not exactly predatory.

To add to this. In the past there were a few instances of the second purchase only adding 12 months to the account. A quick email to customer service will straighten it out if it happens. Just pay attention to the time added to be sure.

Just stacked, all set for 700+ days!

Amazing thank you for the info !

It’s a risk you have to decide if worth.

You can also try stacking the deal.

I would only do it if you want to stack multiple years worth. I personally would leave it. Is $15 savings one year really worth it? That’s like a 1/4 pounder meal at McDonald.

It’s not. the kings day deal from march is still available to your point.

IMO, Eweka is about retention of stuff that’s been deleted off a lot of other backbones, not speed (though I still saturate half a gigabit connection most of the time from the other side of the planet from them)

Do I really care if my automation stack quietly downloads files in the background a few seconds or minutes faster per file? Usually not.

I dabbled in a bunch of different providers over the years, but ever since I got a deal on Eweka, my block accounts on 6 other backbones have gone nearly untouched.

Yea I got the newshosting deal so I am wondering if I should cancel that and get this but now your comment made me wonder…

It’s a valid question. In terms of this deal it does 2 things (I believe):

  1. It gets you NNTP access to EasyNews which has servers in the US. Omicron is technically 2 backbones, though they’re similar enough that’s not a huge benefit.
  2. It also gets you access to the EasyNews web interface, which lets you search Usenet for stuff instead of using indexers. I think I’ve only once found an obscure ISO on there, but I literally could find it nowhere else.

Ultimately it’s a minor thing, don’t let it be your deciding factor on if you want Eweka
