Today i got a 12-month subscription for Surfshark. My intention was to utilize an Indian server as it was listed among the supported servers. However, upon launching the application, the desired location option was absent, accompanied by a message stating, “Due to your restrictive network, you can connect to fewer locations.” I am seeking guidance on how to enable the display of other available locations. Thank you.

“I got a 12-month subscription” That’s a common mistake people make when buying VPNs. Should have gone monthly to determine if it’ll work for you.

If you are living in a country like Russia / Egypt / China it’s to be expected sadly.

If you are not living vpn restrictive country you can try to disable noborder Mode on settings be warned if your ISP / country blocks vpn you can end up with a non working vpn app.

Hello, try to switch off an option called “No Borders”, it’s at the Surfshark app > Settings > VPN settings :raising_hands:

Delete and reinstall Surfshark from a scratch

I live in South Korea and VPNs are legal, but I just updated my app and got the same message as OP. Turning off no-borders worked, but I’m really confused why I’m getting this?

hi! i’ve always wondered what this feature does on a technical level as the app does not disclose this. what is the technical function of it, and why does it cause the hangup op was facing?
