Connection issue with the most recent update [PC]

Ever since the last patch, I’m having a connection issue. I can connect to the VPN just fine. However, once I disconnect the VPN, I can no longer re-connect to ANY VPN server. The only fix I’ve found is to reboot my PC. After which, I can connect again, but only once. After disconnecting and trying to connect again, it’s the same issue.

Furthermore, after disconnecting the VPN, some websites won’t load. Most will work, but not all. I’ve tried different browsers, closing and re-opening Surfshark, reconnecting my WIFI, etc. Something just breaks when I DC the VPN server, and rebooting PC is the only fix. It’s really weird.

Although it may sound silly, reinstalling the Surfshark app could help in this case if you have not tried that yet. As something may have gone wrong with the app whilst updating.

windows 11 - surfshark browser extensions not working anymore - Error code : initial_request_failed

I don’t what changed but since 2 days, I am getting the following error trying to connect through chrome, firefox and edge surfshark extensions:

Proxy connection error

Error code : initial_request_failed

Any idea? I have tried disabling windows firewall and antivirus (kaspersky).

Tried incognito/private mode with all other extensions disabled.

Expecting the same issue… I think that this is caused by windows updates… Can you check what happens when you change protocol to TCP? Are u able to connect again after disconnecting from VPN server?

Hi, there. Try removing and adding the extension back again. Additionally, trying to connect to various different servers could help as well.

Same with me. I’m getting the same error message with the firefox extension

Same here, the extension only works in Opera. Tried disabling all other extensions on both chrome and firefox, but it still doesn’t work.

Reinstalling Surfshark fixed it for me. Unfortunately, all my bypasser settings were reset, but at least it works now.

For me it looks like problem only exists with UDP connections… Can you please check that?

Do you have Kaspersky? Exiting the Kaspersky app fixes it for me but that is not ideal obviously.
