Connecting to VPN while on Freedom Cellular Data?

Just wondering if anyone had any experience getting VPN to work while on Freedom? Specifically I am using Windscribe.

When connecting to Windscribe via Wifi, it has no problems with connecting on different protocols. When on Freedom Cellular however, it refuses to connect to Wireguard, IKEv2, etc; even after trying different ports.

I located this previous thread from 8 years ago, but it doesn’t give a lot of insight on what protocols/ports that OP eventually used to make it work, so just seeing if anyone has any more recent advice.

Thanks everyone for letting me know the results!

The problem was when I have 1Blocker (local ad blocker that uses a local vpn server) turned on AND I am on freedom cellular data. Once I have switched off 1Blocker I can use Windscribe no problem on freedom cell data.

For some reason I am on WiFi (not cell data), I can have 1Blocker on and Windscribe on IKEv2 without any issues.

Just tested on Pixel 6a and I’m having no problems at all. Using Windscribe on Freedom cell data, I was able to connect to IKEv2, Wireguard, UDP. It connected right away.

I have no issue with using ProtonVPN and my own VPN

I only use OpenVPN and Nord, both work fine

I’ve used wireguard. Surfshark and google one all on freedom cellular without issue. Latest iOS

Maybe reset network settings?

No issues with ipvanish.

Windscribe on a Pixel 6: no issues here.

No issues using Surfshark / Norton VPNs. Using the official apps though.

hm that is interesting, i wonder what is my issue. I am on an iPhone fwiw

Tested Windscribe with Freedom on iOS, no issues here on Canada East.

Edit: Used WireGuard on port 443.
