Hello, I’m looking for the cheapest possible VPN that allows torrenting only for 1 month. I doesn’t need to be supersafe, all I want from it is to hide my IP and not sell or leak my data. It’s also important to have port forwarding and P2P unlocked.
I can pay max 2-3$ monthly. It can have some GB limits, but I need at least 50GB. I tried free version of Cryptostorm, buy it seems like they block P2P and also don’t have port forwarding.
I can’t download anyhing while using CryptoStorm. Every torrent has a status “downloading metadata” or “[F] Downloading” and nothing happens. Both download and upload speeds are at 0. As soon as I turn off VPN it starts to download with full speed so it’s definitely not a torrent’s fault.
Well I just tried it and it worked fine. I tested with Cryptofree WireGuard server (France) and Ubuntu 21.10. Magnet resolved quickly and downloaded at 50 MB/s from 1200 seeders.
Neither, I’m using WireGuard. Go to their WireGuard config website, add your public key on the “FREE - one node” and just use the config they give you afterwards. To get the public key scroll down and follow their steps or install WireGuard app and then click to add an empty tunnel where you’ll see your public and private keys (use them in Cryptofree config).
This is the issue with CryptoStorm, it’s one of the best VPNs out there but it’s not made to be user-friendly.
I did everything according to the instructions and I have a connection, everything is fine, except for 2 things. My ipv6 is leaking and torrents still don’t work.
Now I’m testing the free windscribe and I have no problems with torrents or leaks. I think I’m just going to buy their $2 plan.
I bought the $2 Windscribe, but apparently there is no portforwarding in this plan, which they didn’t say before, so I can’t seed on private trackers at all.
I ended up torrenting without VPN. YOLO
Also my country doesn’t even care about torrenting that much.
