Can't get torguard wireguard config and hotio's qbittorrent-vpn to work. it just says "file .conf not found" when its there, can anyone give me the general setup steps?

I am running hotio’s container and using torguard as well.

  1. Did you remove the DNS settings within your wg0.conf file and added in container’s extra argument as --dns 1.1.1.1?

  2. How did you obtain the your wireguard conf file? Did you get it from torguard’s config generator tool? If you are already using the generator tool, ensure you are using the correct service user/password. This is different from torguard’s account login.

Did you set the Container Variable: VPN_CONF? You need to hit the show more settings.

Maybe you want to do this for a reason and already know but just in case - you know you can set up your config in vpn settings as vpn tunnel or so and then when you create your container you choose that network.

I’d just use Tailscale bud if having that many issues, if it’s just for secure remote access, that’s what I do and it’s tonnes easier…I could never set tunnels up for my instance with my cg-nat internet

Suggest you go to trashguid and check there everything is up there

Hi! In the second step you mention user pass, how do I make sure I set it up correctly ?

yep, checked so that its correct. also when i do it correctly for some reason it changes to cannot find wg0.conf.conf, so it adds a .conf for no reason

nope no specific reason, i tried what you said but sadly it just doesnt start with that network. is there anything else to it than importing the tunnel, turning it on and changing network on docker container?

What did you put “VPN username” field?

Make sure you didn’t just use your torguard account username here. You want to go your “services → My Services → managae → manage credentials” and create an service user there.

just use wg0 as your config file

the vpn_conf should just be the path not the file name. Is that what you have? Sorry, I just wanted to make sure.

Are your path/permissions correct?
