Canceling free trial seems impossible. I guess I just have to cancel my credit card

I have wasted hours going around in circles with directions to email [email protected] where I am told to use live chat instead where I am told I can ONLY cancel through google play where there is no record that I have a subscription. Bonus, I have to cancel more than 24 hours before the free trial even ends or get charged for a service that I do not want because it did not do what I need.

I don’t know why you subscribe with Credit cards… always use Paypal for it…

Have you tried fully deleting your Surfshark account if you no longer want to have it? You should be able to do it with the chat bot fairly easy. If there’s no account there’s nothing to charge. https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/11271665782034-How-to-delete-my-Surfshark-account

Surfshark is a scam, wouldn’t refund me because of some stupid refund policy so apparently I was granted one refund that I did last year. I used PayPal and canceled my subscription. Surfshark is a scam

My CC on file expired and SS is constantly sending me reminders to update the info. No thanks.

How did you subscribe for the free trial? Was it through the Google Play Store directly or did you hand them your card information?

I had to dispute through my card. Even after I managed to cancel they still charged me.

Borderline criminal business practice

Seems to be an ongoing theme. I’d report them to consumer affairs.

Someone else mentioned using paypal too. what is the advantage of that?

My experience is different… I subscribed and then requested a refund, it was a smooth process and took 2 weeks to refund in my PayPal account.
Then after more testing, I subscribed again and it is working fine.

You have an option in PayPal that you can cancel auto payment for any vendor in PayPal account settings… Without struggling with the vendor itself.
I did the same for multiple vendors such as Surfshark, Nextdns, etc. It is working fine.

Lucky you now I’m stuck with them until 2025 but it’s been working great on my firecube
