Can I use NordVPN to connect to a wifi that blocks VPNs?

In short, my college WiFi disconnects you (and bans you for 60 seconds) if you try to connect a VPN with it. NordVPN sounds good, but I am not sure if I can use it with my college WiFi without them knowing that I am connected to a VPN.

Also, any idea how much this might help in gaming? I have noticed my internet speed goes absolutely erratic whenever I play a game or use discord on that WiFi on my laptop, even though it works just fine on my phone. So will NordVPN help will this?

try all different protocols inside nordvpn option

No is the answer. Can you use the most popular VPN to connect to a network that blocks VPN’s? No. Spend the money on adding mobile hotspot to cellular provider and stop trying to bypass your schools network filters. You can expelled for trying to bypass the networks T.O.S… i.e.: the part where it bans you for using a VPN for 60 seconds. It’s called Violating Terms of Service and can end your education fast! A very famous case of a College student who’s downloads violated the TOS and he killed himself after being expelled and locked in prison. TOS is a very grey area and leaves lots of room for the College to make an example of you. What school do you go to? JK!

Try connecting to the OpenVPN protocol, it masks the VPN traffic. This has worked for me at least in a corporate environment that is pretty locked down.

Is that guaranteed to work? Since I still have to buy it

What exactly is this process called? Or how can i know the details?

I’m not from Brazil, but you can say that people take laws regarding internet, VPNs, and piracy here as seriously as they do in Brazil. Basically, nobody takes them seriously, they aren’t enforced.
So with that in mind, I think the risk is quite minimal and worth it. Plus the fact that the college WiFi is the only stable connection I have makes me wanna try it more.

Ohh, I will keep this in mind. Thanks a lot

no, it depend how much college internet admin closed ports and/or protocols. You can verify your case only trying any way.

You could also try to create a direct VPN with your home connection with a Raspberry Pi with PiVPN. This could work if they lock vpn IPs only.

Ohh, I see I see. Thank you!
