Browser connection issues when VPN is on

I keep getting the error “403. That’s an error.Your client does not have permission to get URL /search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=youtube from this server.” while im connected to this VPN. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

I was having a similar problem. Direct links worked for me but google searching didnt. I changed my vpn location and now it works. Not sure what the original problem was though.

Hi there, we are sorry to hear you’re having this error. There are several things you could try:

  1. Change the servers;
  2. Change connection protocols. To do so, go to the Surfshark app - Settings - VPN Settings - Protocol. Select the OpenVPN (UDP) option and try to connect. If it does not work, please give the other protocols a try as well!
  3. Clear the cache. You can simply do so by follow this guide: https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022634673-How-to-clear-cache.

Since it worked after changing the VPN location, could it mean that the server you connected to me is banned/restricted by the ISP?

I have the same issue. It’s really a hit or miss. Half of the VPN countries I select work, the others don’t it’s very random
