psa: don’t subscribe to one of the VPN services that you see advertised everywhere (Express, Nord, etc), especially not the ones that are US-based. they are only in it for your data
Not true.
Privacy-wise, NordVPN has been audited repeatedly. Source: https://nordvpn.com/blog/nordvpn-audit/
Regarding price, I use NordVPN daily and it is almost as good as using my broadband or 5g as usual (without a VPN), so the price is worth it in my eyes for high-quality infrastructure.
I suspect these are paid comments. See my reply to the previous post on “Pure VPN”:

It’s a client software not a service. It will work with different types of VPN services. The $14 is a one time payment and gets frequent updates. It’s great.
Some VPN services allow you to get ovpn config to use with third-party apps.
The best thing about Viscosity is that it just works. That payment gives you both Mac and Win versions, and in both cases you just install it, plug in your config, edit if needed and start it. No need to switch something in system config.
Viscosity
tom, is the only bad thing about it the memory it takes up?
This is a rookie question, but why would you need a client? I thought you could connect to VPN servers using their own apps, like using a NordVPN app to connect to NordVPN server?
Got it, sorry…as i said im new…thanks for the info ill hang around and learn something.
have you tried the free Wireguard vpn client. It’s amazing. But your VPN service needs to support that. Windscribe supports it
which one do you suggest?..thanks
I have VPN connections to my servers, routers etc.
In the case of NordVPN and other VPN as a service you are renting a connection to that server. They let traffic through. And they often have their own client, mostly for easily select another server/country.
Thanks for the heads up. Not yet. But I will.
I use Mullvad VPN.
i personally use proton vpn, but it might be a little pricy if you aren’t already a protonmail subscriber
i’ve heard good things about mullvad from friends, i think it’s based in sweden
Sorry I didn’t mean to put the viscosity quote there, I was asking because I use mullvad. I bought a Mac Pro that’s overpowered for my current use, (in school so hopefully will be using to potential soon) and have plenty of resources I can give mullvad, I am just looking for the best vpn.
Thanks for the response and explanation it made a lot of sense.
Cool thanks…yes ive heard of Proton before…ill check it out.
