Best cloud service for self-hosted VPN?

I don’t have problem with logs or id verification. It has to be in the US.

I read Oracle has a free tier, but some don’t like Oracle and say sometimes they shut down the free server with no reason. Also, I’m not sure if VPN is against Oracle terms.

What about digital ocean, aws, etc?

I wouldn’t mind paying if there’s a good reason.

I’m interested in a company whose IP range has good reputation. I would prefer to avoid a company who is know for having clients that abuse the service, and have their IPs flagged or black listed.

Can you browse porn sites with a self-hosted VPN or is it against their terms? Thanks

1€ Ionos VPS works very well for me

Most big providers charge a hefty price for bandwidth, so if you’ll watch a ton of Linux tutorials I’d look for a provider that has unlimited bandwidth. Read their TOS, as all of them are different when it comes to watching Linux tutorials.

I used OVHCloud. I didn’t have any issues, tho the VPS just seemed slow. I’ve been on Oracle’s free tier for a couple of years now without issue. I get messages occasionally saying I haven’t logged in to the console, so I login and it appears to ‘fix’ whatever they have an issue with me not doing.

If porn is part of what’s important, make sure you know where the server is physically located (which state) as PH is blocking some dumb ass R states.

It’s not so important, I could use a commercial vpn I have, or just white list it (so it uses my real ip). But I wanted to know just in case I forgot, if it was problematic to do it through the vps.

You’re not going to find a cheap provider that also has a reputable IP reputation. That means you’ll get a higher rate of captchas or flat out denial like 403 forbidden occasionally. May or may not matter to you.

I don’t know your budget but go to web hosting talk and look at shared or dedicated servers and you’ll see some options not often mentioned here.

I have many high end servers in States and I just use Tailscale with the proxy option whenever I need it, since I don’t live in the US.

How can I know the IP reputation?

Can you name some?

I’m willing to pay. 5 dollars a month maybe, up to 10, dough there should be some reason, considering there are free options.

Like I said go to web hosting talk (not Reddit).

But that price you’ll get pretty much the lowest of the low.

Lower your expectations or increase your price.
