Since internet in China doesn’t go along with Facebook access, i have to use VPN to activate and do other things. I have managed to add two apps for shadowsocks, namely Tomato and V2ray they are starting from Unknown resources, but somehow don’t work well with subscription i have.
Maybe someone who has solved the case can recommend an android app that will work.

UPDATE: After trying a bunch of apps, I have successfully gotten VPN working two different ways.
Method 1: Download Opera APK from APKPURE and side load it… You can the go to settings and turn on the VPN. Only works for the browser though.
BETTER METHOD 2: Download NordVPN apk from APKPURE and side load it. It will open the oculus browser to login, and then you can choose your country, the finger trigger works to click in the app, and it runs in the background for all the apps.
Probably much less hassle to use one on your router instead, as I don’t think that there’s native support for VPN’s.
I use NordVPN sidequested. Works like a charm. No issues. Even auto-connectes after power off/reboot if set in settings.
I was using strongvpn app sideloaded and it worked great until the v23 update, it now crashes when I try to connect. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still doesn’t work. I hope Oculus fixes the problem
subscribe in widevpn.com and use cisco anyconnect app sideloading to oculus quest
I have the same question, Windscribe worked fine on OQ1 but hangs at the welcome screen on the OQ2

Another Option: I use NordVPN on my PC and turn on the Mobile Hotspot in network settings. Any device that connects to it (e.g. Oculus, tablet) will be protected. This requires that you have both wired and wireless connections, because the PC is sharing its wired connection by creating a hotspot with its wireless adapter.
Thank you man, really nice of you to report back. I had successfully installed v2rayNG. Also, if you do look for a neat file transfer app, Onedrive from Microsoft works, kind of hard to install it, entering login/password wasn’t a breathe, but it works fine.
Which APK exactly did you install? I have tried and so far the only one that SideQuest was able to install wouldn’t start and just loaded forever.

I couldn’t get the XAPK to download from pureApk, it would fail. But you can download the NordVPN apk directly from https://nordvpn.com/download/android/

tried that shows no internet. using same router i have apple tv hook up to my nord vpn
I sideloaded NordVPN and when I launch it from Library > Unknown Sources it just says ‘NordVPN keeps stopping’ and i have either the option to close the app or ‘More info’ which makes it crash. Any ideas?
does this still work for you? it stopped working for me. when i click on “back to app” after the login it doesnt work
