Use windows AV, Norton is garbage.
And do you really need a VPN or you use one because influencers say that you need it?
I use cyberghost VPN and AVG. I got a nasty virus from a russian sute (dont ask…) and ended up making my pc. I paid for a year of AVG though so I have it for 12 months.
Cyberghost is really good though. Although if you use virgin media it may block it. You can bypass the block by setting your pc and phone to use Google DNS. (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 on PC ) iPhone and DNS.google on android (or use adblock DNS.- though that is sort of russian owned and after my last experience I stay away from Russian connections!.
McAfee and Norton are total wank. John McAfee the founder if the McAfee antivirus software company did a great video about how it’s descended into mediocrity.
Mildly NSFW
AVG bought Avast or Vice Versa and were found to be selling off users web browsing histories. The stopping of which, is one of the main reasons why you’d have an AV. So they’re out.
If you like the Seven Seas, then Eset can get really annoying unless you turn off it’s built in firewall. As it uses IP address blocklists and blocks virtually every IP address going e.g. an address was used 20 years ago to spread the ILoveYou virus. Eset will alert you if an other torrent user has it and make it seem like a big deal.
For most purposes Windows Defender is great, with maybe just a monthly or so scan with Malware Malbytes (which is fine but not as good as it used to be).
I use Norton 360. The “new” version VPN is much better. I can access my premium accounts in the USA from overseas. I used to use express VPN. But since the new version of 360 came out I cancelled it.
VPN is great for Hulu and seeing Netflix shows available in only other countries.
Well, you could say I like to sail the seas, so I think I could do with a vpn?
And the Windows AV is the built in windows defender right?
Yes, it’s the built in windows defender, it’s as good as any paid antivirus.
VPN, maybe mullvad.
Then bypass the DNS block by using DNS.google/8.8.8.8/8.8.4…4 or adblock dns
