I paid for 2 years and it has worked well for over a year now but since the recent update a few days ago, it slows all my browsers down like they each have the slowest dns in the world.
This has and still is a very highly rated vpn across most sites that review vpns. Presumably, there must be thousands of users experiencing the same slow downs but I can’t find anything about a fix or a work around, etc.
Edit; to be a little more specific about my troubles;
-I haven’t changes any settings in the nordvpn client since the update, it worked without issue before the update
-What I experience is a very noticeable lag when starting up a browser. On both Firefox and Edge, it takes seconds to load any landing page. When I click on a bookmark to any site, it takes seconds for the site to start loading.
So, we got a confirmation from NordVPN’s dev team that they’ve noticed this issue with the latest version of the app. Apparently, Threat Protection and Split Tunneling don’t really work well together in general, so you’ll have to disable one of them for browsers to work normally. The good news is that the issue should be fixed in the next update, which is expected to be released in a couple of weeks.
Yeah - this has been 100% my experience and no acknowledgement from Nord. I’ve had two long support tickets with them and no advice other than reinstall via diagnostic reset (which makes zero difference and just seems like the default response now)
Same here, I’ve been having the exact same issues since the update. I tried reinstalling NordVPN, resetting network settings, and even adjusting DNS, but no luck. Feels like the VPN is throttling speeds, and browsing is super slow now. Hopefully, they push a fix soon, but I’m not seeing much info on it either.
This was the answer, thank you. Split tunneling was my problem that broke with the update. Turning off all Threat Protection at least has me going again.
