What has happened to mysterium? Iv been away over a year and everything has changed?
There are now 2 mysterium vpns?
Can someone explain to me what has happened?
I got 5 vpns running on 100mb net each and they havent earned anything now.
There is Mysterium VPN and Mysterium Dark for those that what to use a VPN.
“I got 5 vpns running” I f you mean that you have 5 nodes running then your node can serve both VPN services.
Changes they made.
2 vpn products
- V2 vpn - subscription based model.
- Dark - pay as you go model.
IP rotation
Rotates 1000 IP addresses at a time so that your not offered a loaded vpn end node and you should always have the best quality nodes available, reasons… increase quality of service, more nodes getting some income by not been able to bookmark your fav nodes.
Running a node.
Running an end node is basically the same as a year ago but earnings are lower due to ip rotation and spreading earnings to more end nodes in a region.
Did they split up`? what happened? there use to be only 1 mysterium vpn…
For users of the VPN the biggest difference is Mysterium VPN is subscription based and Mysterium Dark is PAYG.
They both have the same residential nodes.
So before people had to pay in crypto to use it if remember correctly. So now people will pay in cash and nobody will buy MYST. Cash that does come from subs will never get to the people who are offering their services (VPNS). That explains a lot why peoples rewards are about -95%.
This just looks and feels really sad and stupid. good luck every1, i’m out :=)
May I ask where did you find that info?, when Mysterium VPN came out I tested it and I never got any Residential IP assigned they always were Hosting IPs just like every other VPN, you don’t get to choose or even filter like in Dark. Their official help guide says nothing about both services sharing the same IP pool.
User have been able to pay for VPN services using Paypal & Credit Card and various different types of crypto for a long time. How users choose to pay for the VPN service has no connection to MYST payments are made to node runners.
Lets take Mysterium dark for instance, when users pay using credit card in Fiat in the background that is converted to MYST to use on the VPN app and that pays the node runner same as it’s always worked.
On Mysterium VPN a user pays for a subscription using Credit Card, Paypal, MYST or other Crypto. Now they get to use Mysterium VPN according to their subscription terms. But once again node runners get paid for the amount of traffic that the user consumes just like in Mysterium Dark and just like it has always been.
There is no difference as to how the user decides to pay everything is done using the MYST token.
So explain to me why the rewards are -95%?
I mean it makes sense and I’m not trying to contradict the fact, just asking for the source of that info since it’s fucking dumb for node runners to offer their bandwidth to Mysterium VPN for free and not getting anything out of it.
I mean… the price of the token is down, so I admittedly took ~1k Myst out at a bad time (I needed ~170€ quick so eh, it is what it is), but it’s not down 95%, and when you see the graph of that this address is fed by ONE node, it doesn’t seem down 95% in the last year ?
